
Citrine
Natural citrine is hard to find, and most of the citrines on the market are actually heat-treated natural amethyst. Natural citrine, however, is a good substitute for yellow sapphire and topaz. Citrines resemble yellow sapphire, and are often sold as topaz, although topaz usually has a richer color. Citrine comes from Brazil, Madagascar, Uruguay and France. The best gems come from Brazil.
